Morning Prayer: My Small Life

Lord I live a small life, with little risk. I feel like I live like the world. Work during the day, TV at night and leisure on the weekend. Where is the risk. Where is the satisfaction in you. If I find my joy in you shouldn't that change the way that I live. Shouldn't that make me less like the world and more like Jesus. Let me redeem my time. Help me overcome my laziness, my small spiritual appetite.

God please give me victory of sin and flesh. Keep me from sin today.

Father magnify yourself to me today. Let me gaze upon your beauty. Let today not be just another day in a long string of days. Let today be a day that I spend with the God of this universe, in sweet fellowship and communion.

Father raise up godly men in this church. Bring us some shepherds who know and love your word. Who are strong in prayer. Who seek the salvation of the lost. Allow me to long for salvation of this community. Let me be a cause for change here. Let lives be changed, let your elect be called and nurture here at DBBC. Father I ask that you would radically save an adult this year through our ministry. I pray that it would be the start of something of a great movement by you. Father save Bob H, Larry S, Jeff C, Beaux. Let it be wonderful and amazing.

Work in this community Father. Revitalized it. Give it new life. Let this be a place where the young will be willing to live. Bring young families to our church Lord.

Bless our VBS father. Perhaps that may be a way to impact our community. That whole families will be saved.

Guide my sermon prep father, may it be truthful and glorifying to you. May lives be changed through your work. May walls be broken down. May you do your work in the lives of the church.

Be glorified through me today Lord,

Your Beloved son

Let this not be fleeting

I ask that today would be a significant day in this church. I ask that lives may be changed. I ask that the elect may be called. I ask that there will be some who will be called out to pray. Let this change not be fleeting. Let what you are doing in my life, be permanent. How I have struggled with prayer since birth. When shall I overcome. When shall you give me victory. Free me from my mire I ask once again. Liberate me from the bondage of flesh and self-reliance. Give me tears for my pride. Let me become a different man. A man of prayer and supplication. Let prayer become the life-breathe of this church, of my life.

I (we) must pray

Apart from me you can do nothing. Let me feel these words. Let me believe them. Purify me from self-reliance. Let me become a man of prayer, a man of desperation. I must learn to pray. I must feel my need. You will have me pray, before you work. That is the best, then I may lean more heavily upon you. Let me be fruitful in response to prayer, not my skills. Let your power be perfected in my weakness.

Let me become a man of prayer in my home, for my family and with my family. Let our church become a place of prayer. Give me wisdom on how to lead. Let me be gracious on how much to push. Let your word train us in righteousness, that we may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. Raise up one to lead our focus on prayer. Let there be an elder who will shepherd us in prayer. Let us return to fasting and prayer. Father guide a prayer ministry in our church. I am considering a prayer room, with a prayer schedule. Work on Paige's, Bob P and Lucy father that this may become their ministry. Work in Beverly life.

Father, I ask that this service would be a wonderful gift to you. Unite us in truth. Sanctify us in truth. Let us sing from our hearts and our spirit. Let us repent of our sin and turn to you for grace.

Father I ask that you would sovereignly save Bob Hall, Larry Stier and lanny. Show them their depravity, their sin and the beauty of Christ. Let them come running to you and embrace you as their savior.

Lord mortify my flesh. Let lust be chased from me. Let me be satisfied with my wife.

Lord let my years here at DBBC be a fruitful time. May we lean heavily upon you for grace and ministry.

I love you my God

John 21:1-14

The disciples catch nothing until they depend on Jesus and follow him.

Father,

Help me to depend on you. Let me learn to lay aside my learning, my to do list, my sermon prep tools and cry for help. Cause me to believe that it is you who changed lives, and that you do it through prayer. Change this church into a community of praying saints. Begin with me.

Thank you for Andy and his willingness to set up the computers. Thank you for Lee and the wisdom he has for me. Let me know what to accept and what to reject. Continue to give him godly advice that I may head. Cause me to mortify the flesh. Cause me to love my wife. Give me the energy to cherish her and minister to her.

Thank you for your word. May I cherish it and learn from it and be transformed by it. May I preach only that which impacts me, for if it does not impact me, how can I expect to impact others. Your word is precious and powerful. May I learn to yield it well.

Acts 20

Father, Help me to shepherd the Flock of God. Help me to know the sheep and love them, care for each one. Help me to protect them from heresy and division. Give me wisdom and ability as I teach the deacons tonight this text. Guide us to a church polity that submits to you and gives you honor. Give us a hunger fo your word. I wonder often why we don't thirst for it more. Why don't we meet daily. Why don't have it on our lips. Why don't we talk about continually with one another. Let us be devoted to the word of your grace that it may build us up. Begin with me, my sovereign God. Your beloved son.
